Templates
Templates define the structure and format for AI-generated conversation summaries. They are not message templates for sending — they control how the AI summarizes your conversations, what fields it extracts, and what labels it applies. The Templates page uses a two-panel layout: a template list in a narrow left sidebar and a template builder on the right.
Template List
Templates are divided into two groups: System Templates (pre-built, read-only) and My Templates (user-created). Each template shows its emoji icon, name, and description. A star icon indicates the default template, which is used automatically for new summaries. A search box at the top filters across template names and descriptions.
Template Builder
The builder shows the template name, description, and a list of fields that define the summary structure. Fields can be reordered by dragging. Each field has a label (displayed name), description (guidance for the AI), and a type. Click a field to expand its editor, then use the button showing its current type to change it.
Seven field types are available:
- Short Text — a single line of text.
- Long Text — multi-line text with optional Markdown formatting.
- Number — numeric values.
- Yes/No — a boolean true or false.
- Single Choice — a dropdown where you define the allowed options as a comma-separated list.
- List — an array of text items.
- Labels — predefined conversation labels that the AI marks as true or false. For each label you provide a name and a rule describing when the AI should apply it.
Template Actions
Use the menu in the template header to clone a template (creates a copy with a new name), set it as the default, or delete it. System templates cannot be edited or deleted, but they can be cloned and set as default. A template that is marked as default cannot be deleted until another template is made the default.
