Create alert rules, reminders, notification channels, and webhook handoffs.

Alerts & Reminders

The Alerts page has three tabs: Alerts for creating and managing custom alert rules, Reminders for viewing personal follow-up reminders, and Notifications for a chronological feed of all triggered alerts. An unread count badge appears on the Alerts sidebar item and the Notifications tab when new alerts have fired.

Creating Alerts

Select New Alert at the top of the Alerts page to open the creation form. If no alerts exist yet, you can also use Create Alert in the empty state. Every alert has a name, an optional description, a condition, notification channels, and a conversation filter. You must configure the following:

Condition type determines when the alert fires. There are three types:

  • Natural Language (AI) — describe the situation in plain English, such as “when the customer explicitly requests immediate assistance” or “when someone expresses frustration.” The condition must be at least 10 characters. A library of example conditions is available through View Examples.
  • Response Time (SLA) — set a number of minutes. The alert triggers when a customer expects a response and no internal team member responds within that time. Jev uses the conversation context to identify requests and relevant responses. Acknowledgments such as “We’re checking and will get back to you” satisfy the response SLA. Customer follow-ups keep the original deadline. “Internal” is determined by contacts marked as internal in your Contacts list.
  • Keywords — enter a comma-separated list of keywords. The alert triggers immediately when any keyword appears in a message. You can optionally enable case-sensitive matching.

Notification channels control how you are notified when the alert fires. At least one channel is required. Options include email, browser push, WhatsApp, and a configured webhook. WhatsApp alerts require a verified phone number and must be enabled in your notification settings. Webhook alerts require an alert webhook in Settings > Integrations.

Conversation filter controls which conversations the alert monitors. You can choose all conversations, all DMs only, all groups only, or hand-pick specific conversations from a searchable list. For the DM and group options, you can optionally enter a text filter to match conversation names.

Managing Alerts

The Alerts tab shows a table of your alert rules with their type, status, delivery channels, and creation date. Search the list or filter it by alert type and enabled status. Select an alert to see its full details. The row menu lets the alert owner edit, enable or disable, or delete it.

Reminders

Reminders are personal follow-ups you set on specific messages. To create a reminder, hover over any message in the Inbox and click the reminder icon, then choose a date and time. The Reminders tab on the Alerts page lists all your active reminders with the original message text, sender name, and scheduled time. You can delete reminders individually but cannot edit them — delete and recreate if you need to change the time.

Notifications

The Notifications tab shows a chronological feed of every triggered alert. Unread notifications appear with bold text and a blue dot. Click any notification to see the full details: the alert name, timestamp, the triggering condition, an explanation of why it fired, the specific messages that caused the trigger, and the delivery status for each notification channel (success, failed with error details, or pending). Notifications are automatically marked as read when you click them, and a “Mark all as read” option is available.

Alert Logs

Select View logs from the Alerts page to review alert activity across a date range. Use the logs when you need to confirm which rule ran, inspect an outcome, or understand why an expected notification was not delivered.

Sending Alerts to External Services

To send an alert to an external service, first create an alert webhook in Settings > Integrations. Then select Webhook as a notification channel and choose the endpoint. This is useful for services such as Slack, Discord, Notion, Linear, Zapier, or another system that accepts webhooks.

Tip: Use a job instead when the external service needs data extracted or reshaped before it is sent.

Cooldown

Set a cooldown when you create or edit an alert to avoid repeated notifications from the same conversation in a short period. You can choose a duration from one minute to seven days, or choose No cooldown when every match should notify you.
